Hunter’s Heroes’ Holiday Giving – CNMC, Washington, DC

On Friday, 14 December 2012, Hunter’s Heroes visited Children’s National Medical Center in DC. Thanks to our supporters, our non-profit was able to deliver over 300 gifts to the Oncology Floor for patients, over $2,000 in gift cards for in-patient families and $5,000 towards childhood cancer research! We want to thank everyone for a very successful first year as a non-profit, and we hope you are ready to make 2013 even more successful!

Gifts ranged from game systems such as a new Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 to crafts to basketball hoops to Nerf guns to tea sets to card games to school activity books and lots, lots, more. Needless to say, we fulfilled the Wish List that Children’s provided to Hunter’s Heroes with no problem!   Without the support from donors like you, this would not have been possible. It’s with great inspiration that we carry on Hunter’s name by doing things such as this, and while we know that these gifts don’t ‘fix’ what these children are going through, we hope and pray that we have brought a smile to their little faces, just like the one that Hunter always showed to us.
Not included in this picture are toys collected by Mill Creek Middle School in Lusby, MD which were also delivered the same day. The National Junior Honor Society and their Sponsor, Jen Murphy, organized a school wide collection of toys, crafts and school supplies for Hunter’s Heroes to deliver to oncology patients at Children’s. Mill Creek invited us to their NJHS Induction Ceremony/Assembly and presented their collection to us. We want to thank Mill Creek for a wonderful effort that was overwhelming and very emotional. There is good in this world, and while it is sometimes hard to find, this is a prime example of the difference children can make when given the opportunity.
